After an injury-plagued week, the Steelers are bolstering their depth heading into Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Per a team announcement, the Steelers have elevated defensive back Thomas Graham Jr. and running back Aaron Shampklin to the active/inactive roster ahead of Week 4’s matchup.
Both players will revert back to the practice squad following the game.
The elevations provide the Steelers with depth at injury-stricken position groups. With running back Jaylen Warren ruled out of Sunday’s game, Shampklin provides the Steelers with a third running back behind Najee Harris and Cordarrelle Patterson.
With Cory Trice Jr. on injured reserve, Thomas Graham Jr. provides another name the Steelers can rotate in the secondary. Graham primarily saw slot snaps during the preseason, meaning he could be a candidate to split reps with rookie starter Beanie Bishop Jr. in the team’s nickel defense, as well as seeing the field in dime situations.
Pittsburgh takes on the Colts on the road in Week 4 on Sunday, kicking off at 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium.
