The Pittsburgh Steelers have been in the market for a receiver dating back to March when they traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, leaving George Pickens as the only other true threat on the boundary. Months of Brandon Aiyuk rumors and trade discussions ended with the All-Pro staying in the Bay area, and the Steelers also failed to land the likes of Deebo Samuel or Courtland Sutton. However, they remain in the market and are once again going big-game hunting.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. the Steelers have had discussions with the Las Vegas Raiders and both sides are keeping an open line of communication on a potential trade for Davante Adams. Russini adds that Pittsburgh is ready to make an “aggressive offer” for the future Hall of Fame receiver.

Pittsburgh hasn’t got any production from Van Jefferson, who is Pittsburgh’s other primary outside starter. Calvin Austin has given them production from the slot over the last two weeks, but that is simply not enough to be a legitimate threat come playoff time. Add Adams? Then the Steelers would be a very interesting player in the AFC playoffs.
