The Pittsburgh Steelers are 6-2 and coming off their bye week after three consecutive games in which the offense exploded. Russell Wilson is averaging over 270 yards per game after his first two starts, and Najee Harris has run for 100+ yards in three consecutive games.

One of the bigger pieces of the Steelers offense in the first half of the year was quarterback Justin Fields, who had five passing touchdowns and five rushing scores in helping Pittsburgh win four of their first six games before Wilson was fully healthy to return. Fields was the designated emergency third quarterback against the New York Giants due to injury, which Mike Tomlin was asked about today in his weekly press conference.

Tomlin said it was a precautionary move more than anything to prevent a small problem from becoming a big problem. He adds that after they bye, they don’t foresee any issues going forward.

Tomlin was also asked if we could see a Fields package going forward, to which he reiterated that it is a possibility to have a special group of plays for the dynamic quarterback.

Tomlin said #Steelers QB Justin Fields suffered a minor hamstring injury on Sunday before the Giants game. Said they're not anticipating it being an issue after the bye.

Also reiterated that he could have a package of plays going forward. https://t.co/QW1FEFpnBD

Pittsburgh will face fellow dual-threat quarterback Jayden Daniels this week as they look to get to 7-2 and keep hold of first place in the AFC North.
