The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting back one of their young rising stars. Cornerback Cory Trice is returning to practice, and his 21-day window is officially open. Trice will have to return to the active roster in that window or he will be gone for the season.

The Purdue product missed all of last season with a torn ACL he sustained in training camp, but started off this season with a bang. He recorded his first career interception in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. Rookie Bo Nix was looking for receiver Courtland Sutton when Trice dropped back and read the eyes of the quarterback, stepping in front of the pass and killing Denver’s scoring chance. He was put on IR after getting injured in the Steelers’ Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Trice will add to the Steelers’ secondary that just got Cam Sutton back from suspension. They’ll need all hands on deck as they will play all of their divisional games in the back stretch of the season, as well as a Christmas day matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
