Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).
Tonight at 8PM on CBS: B1G Ten Championship! #3 Penn State take on #1 Oregon. Will the Nittany Lions claw their way past the Ducks or is the 1 seed an Oregon conclusion? To be Franklin, I am not expecting a win for my Alma mater.
This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going is below, also let us know what you’re eating/drinking!
1) A rematch with the Browns tomorrow is on deck. In the previous TNF game, Miles Garrett had double hat tricks of 3 sacks and 3 TFL (thankfully no “Mason Helmet tricks”). Predict how well our OL/offense holds Miles in check by predicting his stats: sacks/TFL/ pass rush win rate. (just make up a number, that’s what PFF does)
2) if George Pickens doesn’t play, which steeler will be called for the most frustrating penalty flag vs Browns?
a) JPJ for DPI for breathing too hard on a receiver
b) Broderick Jones hold negating a TD play
c) TJ Watt roughing the passer that was actually a clean sack
d) Minkah flagged for unnecessary roughness after letting up on a tackle
3) The Steelers need 2 more wins ( any two) to secure a playoff spot, and lock up the AFCN if one win is vs Ravens. Let’s assume the Steelers are locked into the 2 seed after the Ravens win: would you worry about them getting rusty? Why or why not?
4) A NFL bettor has put down $3.1 million dollars on the table, wagering the Eagles beat the Panthers. Now that’s walking around money! What’s the biggest bet (sports or otherwise) that you’ve placed?
5) The new 12 team college football playoffs will soon be decided. If you’re on the ranking committee, do you think 9-3 Alabama Crimson Tide deserve to get in or are they “ for the streets”?
6) It’s the holiday season, and the weather is getting frightful for many: Erie / Buffalo got 5+ feet of snow. What is the “perfect weather “ for December football?
