We’re just under 90 minutes out from kickoff of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 15 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, and both teams have officially announced their gameday inactives.
Here’s a look at the Steelers inactives for Week 15’s showdown against the Eagles.
Steelers inactives Week 15
QB Kyle Allen (emergency 3rd QB)
WR George Pickens (hamstring)
S DeShon Elliott (hamstring)
DT Larry Ogunjobi (groin)
CB Cory Trice Jr.
The Pittsburgh Steelers ruled out three players on Friday’s final injury report, including WR George Pickens, S DeShon Elliott and DT Larry Ogunjobi. Pickens suffered his injury ahead of last week’s contest against the Browns, while Elliott and Ogunjobi suffered their injuries in-game in Week 14.
It’s likely that DT Montravius Adams will get the start in place of Ogunjobi, currently making his way back from a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve. Adams was activated from injured reserve on Saturday ahead of this week’s matchup. Last week, with Adams inactive, Isaiahh Loudermilk took the bulk of snaps on the defensive line after Ogunjobi left the matchup.
Without Elliott, we’ll probably see an increase in snaps for Cam Sutton, who took some snaps at safety throughout training camp, as well as Damontae Kazee with some potential for Minkah Fitzpatrick to work more snaps in the box safety role. It will probably be a bit of a rotation, rather than a 1:1 substitution in Elliott’s absence.
In place of Pickens this week, fans can probably expect an uptick in participation from Mike Williams and Calvin Austin III this week, though Wilson’s spread the ball out among his eligibles over the past couple of weeks fairly well.
Cornerback Cory Trice Jr. remains a healthy scratch again this week — his second time being scratched since clearing the injury report in return from a hamstring injury suffered in Week 3.
Eagles inactives Week 15
Tanner McKee (Emergency 3rd QB)
Britain Covey (neck)
OL Nick Gates
OG Trevor Keegan
OL Darian Kinnard
CB Eli Ricksr
There are a few things worth noting for the Eagles on the practice report, including the addition of Jalen Hurts this week with a broken finger on his non-throwing hand, though he’s active for this matchup.
S Reed Blankenship will make his return from a concussion that held him out of Week 14, as will Sydney Brown, who missed Week 14 with a knee injury.
Though he’s not listed here on the inactives report, the Eagles are also without starting TE Dallas Goedert, who was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 14 with a knee injury. Third-year TE Grant Calceterra has taken on the majority of TE snaps in his absence, with C.J. Uzomah playing behind him. Calceterra handled just three targets last week, reeling in all three of them for 16 yards and a score.
