The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to live in an endless quarterback void, and have done so since Ben Roethlisberger retired. While the 2025 answer at the position will seemingly be either Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, the Steelers are also reportedly interested in drafting a certain quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft – Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland noted on The Really Big Show that the Steelers have a lot of interest in Dart, and that they want to keep their interest in him close to the vest.

“I’m hearing the fastest-rising player, not only quarterback, in this whole process of underwear Olympics is Jaxson Dart,” Rizzo said. “And [the Steelers] are doing everything they can to not let that out of the bag. Don’t be surprised if the Steelers keep Justin Fields and draft Jaxson Dart.”

This would feel like a shot in the dark from the Steelers if they were to draft Dart on Day Two of the draft. More or less, it would feel like drafting the tools and upside – which can be somewhat defended when taking a quarterback after the first round.

Dart has a big arm, but there is a lot of Zach Wilson in him, in my opinion. He’s become a very polarizing prospect where you either think he is going to be great or you are completely out on him. I’d probably fall in the latter category, and we’ll find out where the Steelers fall in terms of their feelings about him at the end of next month.
