The Cleveland Browns brought Kenny Pickett back to the AFC North in March when they traded for the former first-round pick. The Browns’ quarterback room has gotten very crowded, with ensuing additions of Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders. And while head coach Kevin Stefanski said the team has belief in Pickett should he be the starter, it looks like Pickett will be a one-and-done in Cleveland.

The Browns declined to pick up Pickett’s fifth-year option. And with the completely cluttered room of signal-callers, it’s very possible Pickett isn’t even on the roster to begin the season. With the Browns spending a pair of draft picks on quarterbacks, one of which was expected to be a first-round pick in Sanders, Pickett could be the odd man out.

Pickett went 14-10 as a starter with the Steelers, throwing 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions from 2022-23 before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2024 season.
