The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to have their most wins since 2020 going into Week 18. With a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh would finish the regular season at 11-6. Russell Wilson has gone 6-4 as the starting quarterback after Justin Fields began the season 4-2. Speaking on Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the future Hall of Fame quarterback says the Steelers should keep Justin Fields after this season.

“I don’t think that you want to lose Justin,” Roethlisberger said. “So maybe the better plan is to try and offer Russ a one-year, $30 million dollar deal, or whatever it is. I think it’d kill the cap, but just to try and keep Justin around for another year and see what you can get. Let him develop, but I don’t know if Russ would take that either though. I’ve always been a fan of letting a guy sit for a year or two. I think you just get so much experience from sitting behind a good veteran guy. Which is why I think this has helped Justin to sit behind Russ a little bit.”

Both Wilson and Fields will be free agents when the new league year starts in March of 2025, meaning Pittsburgh will be without a starting quarterback on the roster and will have some tough decisions to make.
