The Pittsburgh Steelers made headlines a year ago when they traded wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a Day Three draft pick and cornerback Donte Jackson. The veteran cornerback had a respectable season, picking off a career-high five passes, but the tail end of the season saw him and the secondary as a whole struggle in a five-game losing streak.

The Steelers won’t be bringing the veteran back, as he has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. The deal is worth $13 million.

This will be Jackson’s third team in three years, and he will provide a veteran presence to Jesse Minter’s group that may be losing Asante Samuel Jr. and Kristian Fulton in free agency.

The Steelers agreed to terms with another veteran of their own in Darius Slay. While the deal isn’t official yet, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports that Slay will be heading to Pittsburgh.
