The Pittsburgh Steelers were without star receiver George Pickens for the first time this past Sunday when they took on the Cleveland Browns in the second matchup between the two teams. Pickens getting injured felt like a pure nightmare scenario for the Steelers entering the season, as they didn’t have any sort of proven No. 2 on the roster. However, the group stepped up in a big way to help Pittsburgh put up 27 points in a two-score victory over the Browns. Mike Tomlin was asked about the group after the game.

“You guys were asking us about our lack of No. 2 in team development,” Tomlin said. “The guys made plays where we throw the ball to make plays. The strength of the pack is the pack… maybe you’ll start believing me.”

Mike Tomlin with a little spice toward the doubts at the Steelers' WR:

“You guys were asking us about our lack of No. 2 in team development. The guys made plays where we throw the ball to make plays. The strength of the pack is the pack….maybe you'll start believing me.”

“The pack” did what was required. Mike Williams and Scotty Miller each had three catches and a big sideline catch a piece, as well. Van Jefferson caught a touchdown in the red zone. And Ben Skowronek made another big special teams play. The Steelers’ role players played their roles and helped secure another win.
