It’s a forgone conclusion that the Steelers will draft at least one player at the Senior Bowl. They’ve taken at least one participant in the All-Star Game in every draft since 2007, and there is no reason to think that will change. Here’s what I saw Wednesday in Mobile.

Kentucky DT Deone Walker continues to show out

Walker is a physical specimen and one of the most athletic players in Mobile, and he had another string of plays in team drills where he was blowing up run plays and getting immediate pressure. On top of that, Mike Tomlin is paying attention to him. For the second straight day, Tomlin was up close and personal in the pit of offensive and defensive linemen, and he was seen sharing a few words with the 6-foot-7 defensive tackle, who said he was very surprised to turn and see Tomlin giving him some encouragement. And according to Nick Farabaugh of PennLive, Walker says he models his game after Cam Heyward – it feels like there’s a decent chance Walker will be a Steeler.

Pair of cornerbacks shine

Quincy Riley of Louisville had the best day of any defensive back. He broke up multiple passes across one-on-one and team drills. Upton Stout of Western Kentucky also built on a solid day yesterday. Both are guys that are expected to be early Day Three picks and could be names to keep an eye on as potential cornerback depth additions.

Jalen Milroe continues to struggle

Milroe has done himself no favors this week with his play. Wednesday was worse than Tuesday, as he had multiple underthrows and threw an interception in team drills to Notre Dame linebacker Jack Kiser. Yes, he is incredibly athletic and can make plays with his legs, but when it comes to pure quarterback play, this isn’t a guy worthy of a first-round pick, or second-round pick, frankly.

Other news

Marshall EDGE Mike Green had the most dominant rep of the week thus far in one-on-ones, plowing through an offensive lineman and sending him to the ground

Iowa State WR Jaylin Noel had a really nice day in one-on-ones

Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart had a really big day. He had a strip sack and multiple pressures in team drills
West Virginia OL Wyatt Milum and USC OL Jonah Monheim have both looked really good for the second straight day
