The arrival of Aaron Rodgers as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ new starting quarterback has largely been a welcome addition. Rodgers himself was very complimentary of several players and coaches alike during his first press conference following Monday’s mini-camp practice.

This, of course, does come with the demotion of Mason Rudolph to the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart behind Rodgers. He was asked about the arrival of Rodgers and Day One of playing alongside the four-time MVP.

“[Rodgers] has been very inquisitive about the offense and very friendly,” Rudolph said via Brian Batko of Steelers Now. “So it’s been fun.”

Rudolph wasn’t numb to what was coming. He, like just about everyone else on the team, was almost certainly very aware of the Steelers’ pursuit of Rodgers. Now, the Steelers have a complete quarterback room with one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, a high-end backup, another quarterback who has started a playoff game in Skylar Thompson, and a rookie in Will Howard who can be groomed to be a good plug-and-play backup himself.
