With the NFL schedule release taking place in mere hours, more and more leaks are coming out from around the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers already had one game announced in advance, as it was revealed their game in Dublin would take place in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings. Now, their home opener is reportedly set.
Per Donny Chedrick of 93.7 The Fan, the Steelers will play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 at Acrisure Stadium. Chedrick adds that the matchup will be the team’s home opener in 2025, so Pittsburgh will be on the road for Week 1, as they usually are due to scheduling conflicts with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Steelers faced Seattle in their home opener in Week 2 back in 2019, which was the game in which Ben Roethlisberger suffered his season-ending elbow injury. The Steelers rallied with Mason Rudolph, but fell short in a 28-26 loss.
Prior to that, the last two times the Steelers faced the Seahawks in Pittsburgh, they shut out Seattle both times. In 2011, Pittsburgh won 24-0 and in 2007, the Steelers won 21-0. Seattle last played in Pittsburgh in 2021, where Pittsburgh won 23-20 in overtime. This game will also serve as the first time DK Metcalf faces his former team.
