The NFL schedule has been officially revealed, and the Pittsburgh Steelers now know their road to get back to the postseason and hopefully end the playoff-win drought. On top of the schedule release, though, the Steelers also had another announcement.

According to team president Art Rooney II, the Steelers will debut a new uniform in their Week 8 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Many have speculated these will be similar to their 2000s throwback uniforms that were paired with gold helmets, but nothing has been confirmed on what the helmets or uniforms will look like.

The Steelers are going to wear a new throwback uniform for SNF vs. Packers on Oct. 26 in Week 8, Art Rooney II says.

The closest thing the Steelers have had to new uniforms in recent seasons has been when they wore block numbers and grey facemasks. And even so, the grey facemasks just became part of the throwback look this past season. A new look will be a welcomed part of the rotation, even if it is just the old throwbacks. It was a good luck, and a modern touch on it would make for a good throwback look a few times per season.
