The Pittsburgh Steelers are running out of time if they want to trade for a receiver. The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5th at 4:00 EST. And while Pittsburgh is 6-2, another legitimate weapon on the boundary is needed to make their offense that much more dangerous. The Steelers have already swung and missed on Brandon Aiyuk, Davante Adams, and Cooper Kupp. Now, according to Adam Schefter, they missed out on yet another receiver.
Schefter says the Steelers were “in the process” of getting a deal done with the Jacksonville Jaguars that would send wide receiver Christian Kirk to Pittsburgh. Schefter adds that league sources say there was a “reasonable chance” that Kirk was going to end up in a Steelers uniform before he broke is collarbone in Week 8.

There are very few names left for the Steelers to realistically pursue. Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders and Darius Slayton of the New York Giants are the two most likely candidates. Adam Thielen of the Carolina Panthers is another name to keep an eye on, though he is dealing with an injury. If the Steelers can’t pull off a trade, though, there’s really no one on the free agent market that raises the bar.
