NFL Combine week is the unofficial turning of the page into the next NFL season. While teams can’t sign free agents or make trades official until March 12 when the new league year begins, the Combine is when things start coming together for those aforementioned trades.

One potential move that has been the talk of the NFL is the Rams trading Matthew Stafford. Los Angeles reportedly gave the Super Bowl-winning quarterback permission to speak with other teams in hopes of finding a trade partner. In an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN insider Adam Schefter named the Steelers as one of three teams truly in the mix as a potential Stafford landing spot.

McAfee himself asked if the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and Steelers were potential spots. Schefter confirmed those three teams, among others, have checked in with the Rams, but the aforementioned clubs are the “playing field” for the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

When asked if the Steelers had any interest in Stafford, general manager Omar Khan said he wouldn’t comment on specific players, but added that the team is exploring “all options” at the quarterback position.
