The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off their first practice of the week on Wednesday, preparing for their first primetime game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. Both teams enter this game pretty banged up with several starters potentially in line to miss the Sunday Night Football showdown.

Here’s a look at the full Steelers practice report for Thursday, October 3 ahead of Pittsburgh’s second home game of the season.

Steelers injury report: Week 5 (Thursday)

DNP: RB Jaylen Warren (knee), LB Alex Highsmith (groin), MyCole Pruitt (knee), RB/KR Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle)

Limited: QB Russell Wilson (calf), LB Nick Herbig (ankle), DT Larry Ogunjobi (groin)

Full: LB Jeremiah Moon (ankle), LG Isaac Seumalo (pectoral), DT Keeanu Benton (ankle)

Rest day: DT Cam Heyward

There’s some good news and some bad news on Thursday’s injury report. The good news is that second-year OLB Nick Herbig was upgraded from DNP status on Wednesday to a limited participant with an ankle injury suffered in Week 4.

The bad news is that both RBs Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson are both still out of practice with their respective injuries — not great for their outlook in Week 5. The Steelers did sign practice squad RB Aaron Shampklin to the active roster, but they may need to make an additional move ahead of Sunday evening should neither Warren nor Patterson make progress.
