The Pittsburgh Steelers incurred their first loss of the 2024 season in Week 4 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts, falling 27-24. They almost made it a game on their final possession, but a miscue from rookie center Zach Frazier on a fourth-quarter snap forced a loss on the play that was too much to overcome by the end of it.
It was a brutal showing on most fronts, but particularly so on the defense, where Teryl Austin’s unit couldn’t stop much of anything — including former Baltimore Ravens rival Joe Flacco, who entered the game in relief of Anthony Richardson, ruled out with a hip injury early in Sunday’s contest.
The offense had its ups and downs, too, managing several injuries, particularly on the offensive line. Starting left guard Isaac Seumalo was out ahead of game, while starting right guard James Daniels was ruled out during this game with an ankle injury. Still, quarterback Justin Fields led the team to their most promising showing so far this season, responsible for three total touchdowns, including two on the ground and one through the air to TE Pat Freiermuth.
The Steelers will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 5 for their second home game of the season, currently sitting at 2-2. Pittsburgh currently leads the AFC North with a 3-1 record, while the Bengals sit at 1-3 and the Ravens and Browns each sit at 1-2 ahead of their Week 4 matchups.
