The Pittsburgh Steelers held their first practice of the week on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders, with one particularly big update on the injury front; QB Russell Wilson has officially logged his first full practice session of the season, making his way toward a clean bill of health. Wilson has been making his way back from a calf injury first suffered in training camp that went on to be aggravated further ahead of Week 1 kickoff.
Wilson has not yet been active for a game this season, with Justin Fields getting the start in each of the first five weeks. He has, however, been the emergency QB, while Kyle Allen served as Fields’ backup.
The rest of the injury report was a busy one, with several key injuries on defense, including both OLBs Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig, as well as DE DeMarvin Leal — all of whom have already been ruled out for the week. Things are surely looking thin at edge rusher for the time being, which means recently activated OLB Jeremiah Moon could be in for a key role in Week 6.
Here’s a look at the full practice report for Wednesday’s practice ahead of Week 6.
