The Pittsburgh Steelers made it a clear mission to fix their offensive line over the last two seasons. Signing Isaac Seumalo, and drafting Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, and Mason McCormick made it clear that the Steelers were tired of bad play up front. Unfortunately, though, the injury bug has bitten them heavily this season.

After losing Seumalo for at least the first month of the season, Fautanu was also dealing with a sprained MCL he suffered in the team’s first preseason game. He missed Week 1, but debuted in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, though, it appears he’ll be back on the shelf for the immediate future.

Fautanu left practice early Friday with an injury. And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Fautanu will be out indefinitely after injuring his knee.

This is a massive opportunity for Broderick Jones, who played on the right side last season – and played well, don’t forget. While he played poorly against the Broncos, this is a big chance for Jones to cement himself as a starter.
