Pittsburgh Steelers fans got some bad (although not entirely unexpected) news on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, as the tea, officially downgraded safety DeShon Elliott’s status for Week 16 to “out” with a hamstring injury, Burt Lauten of Steelers PR announced.

The team initially listed Elliott as doubtful for the game on Thursday’s final injury report, a tag that indicates a player has a “25%” chance of playing, though players with the doubtful tag almost never actually end up playing.

Despite 2024 being his first season with the team, Elliott’s become one of the team’s most impactful players from the jump. He ranks second on the team in total tackles (96, including 3 for a loss) while leading in solo tackles (63), credited with 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and an interception over 13 games.
