The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of five 3-0 teams in remaining the NFL, and that is in large part because of the consistent play of Justin Fields. The quarterback joined his teammate, Cam Heyward, on the latest episode of Not Just Football and he discussed what it’s been like navigating the quarterback battle with Russell Wilson.
“From the moment we got here, I think we both did a good job of balancing the leadership,” Fields said. “We have two different leadership styles. Russ is super vocal, super boom-boom-boom always talking each and every day to where it’s like I like to kind of make my rounds, kind of behind the scenes. Try to go talk to guys individually, see how they’re feeling. But I think we’ve done a great job of balancing that part of it. Of course, we both know where we come from… for me personally, I’m just trying to learn as much from him as I can… just how he carries himself day in, day out, it’s him and it’s not fake. Some people think it’s fake looking from the outside in… that’s really him each and every day.”
The two quarterbacks, despite being competitors, are also teammates at the end of the day and seem to be bringing the best out of one another.
