We’re just under 90 minutes out from kickoff of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 6 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, and both teams have officially announced their gameday inactives.
Here’s a look at the Steelers inactives for Week 6’s showdown against the Raiders.
Steelers inactives Week 6
The Steelers are getting a couple of big names back this week, as QB Russell Wilson is active for the first time this season in his return from a calf injury. He is expected to back up Justin Fields, though it’s unclear how long his leash will be. Speaking to the media on Friday, HC Mike Tomlin noted the element of Wilson shaking off the “rust” as a component in that decision. Meanwhile, RB Jaylen Warren, having originally been listed as questionable for Week 6, will play after being removed from the report on Saturday.
Pittsburgh finds themselves in some trouble in the pass rush in particular in Week 6, down several options between OLBs Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig. Not on the injury report but missing from this game is DE DeMarvin Leal, who was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a neck injury. He is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. Those three alone have combined for 17 pressures through the first five weeks of the season per PFF.
Rookie WR Roman Wilson is also officially active for his first NFL game this week.
Raiders inactives Week 6
The Raiders are without a number of their top options on offense, including their top two wide receivers Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Expect TE Brock Bowers to once again be the focal point of their receiving game, with Tre Tucker and DJ Turner as their top options at wideout.
It’s a challenging position for QB Aidan O’Connell this week, starting his first game this season after the benching of Gardner Minshew, who started the season with a 2-3 record. O’Connell started 10 games last season, going 5-5 while averaging just over 200 passing yards per game, throwing 12 TDs and 7 INTs on the year.
Missing from the Raiders inactives list is TE Michael Mayer, who was placed on the NFI list this week as he attends to personal matters.
