The Steelers have already filled up one of their open practice squad spots, signing defensive tackle Domenique Davis. The move was announced via the NFL transaction wire, first reported by Alan Saunders of Steelers Now.
Davis went undrafted in 2020 out of UNC Pembroke, signing with the New York Jets.
In his final collegiate season in 2019, he recorded 41 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and three sacks.
The 6’3, 315-pound defender was cut by the Jets following a failed physical before his rookie season, which he attributed to needing a surgery. He spent the spring of 2022 with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL.
Davis returned to the NFL in the summer of 2022, signing with the Cincinnati Bengals. He’s appeared in two regular season games since then for Cincinnati, recording three total tackles. Bengals.com wrote a feature on Davis’ NFL journey. Davis was released on Oct. 22.
The Steelers still have an open slot on their practice squad.
