After a busy Tuesday, the Steelers made more roster moves on Wednesday. Per a team announcement, Pittsburgh signed running back Aaron Shampklin from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The team also signed linebacker Jacoby Windmon to the practice squad and activated outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon’s 21-day window to return from injured reserve.

Shampklin was temporarily activated from the practice squad last week against the Indianapolis Colts, where he recorded one rush for five yards. Now, he’s officially signed. It’s good news for Shampklin, but not a promising sign for the Steelers’ general running back health. Both Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson are dealing with injuries.

Following yesterday’s moves, the Steelers still have one open spot on their roster.

Shampklin was quickly replaced on the practice squad by Windmon, a physical linebacker who impressed as an undrafted free agent with the Steelers this summer. He’s an addition to watch.

Moon also had some good plays with the Steelers during the preseason, and now he has three weeks to return. For now, he remains on injured reserve, but he could be an option for the Steelers’ outside linebacker depth down the road.
