The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former top 10 overall pick cornerback C.J. Henderson, the team announced today.
This comes after Cory Trice was placed on IR with a hamstring injury, which will cause him to miss at least four games. The Steelers were already thin at the position, bringing back James Pierre a short time ago, and Pierre was on the field this past Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Henderson was drafted ninth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft before being traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2021. He has three career interceptions over his four-year career. He spent the preseason with the Houston Texans, but didn’t make the final 53-man roster and was cut at the end of August.
