While it has been speculated for quite some time, it is now official – the Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland in Week 4 of the NFL season.
It was rumored a week ago that the Vikings would be the Steelers’ opponent for the first regular-season NFL game to take place in Ireland, and it is now official. This marks the second time the Steelers and Vikings will square off overseas, the first coming in London back in 2013, where Matt Cassel and Minnesota defeated the Steelers 34-27. Le’Veon Bell scored his first career touchdown in that game.
It’s a historical game for the Vikings for multiple reasons. The aforementioned first game in Ireland, but they will also be the first team to play consecutive games overseas in two different countries. They play another AFC North team in Week 5 in London, where they are scheduled to face the Cleveland Browns.
