The NFL schedule release is just around the corner, where the Steelers will find out not just the order of their slate of 2025 games, but also the majority of kickoff times.
Last year, while the Steelers dodged an international game, they played a gauntlet of different time slots: 1 p.m., 4:25 p.m.; Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night football; as well as a Wednesday Christmas game and two Saturday kickoffs.
In 2025, the Steelers will face the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland, Week 4. Dublin is five hours ahead of Pittsburgh (1 p.m. Pittsburgh time is 6 p.m. Dublin time), promising an early kickoff Eastern time Sept. 28.
What’s your favorite time slot for a Steeler game?
Ahead of the schedule release May 14, what time slots are you hoping the Steelers play a lot of in 2025? Are you a 1 p.m. EST traditionalist, or do you prefer the energy and occasion of primetime games?
And don’t forget that not every Steelers fan lives in Pittsburgh. As a West Coaster, my favorite time slot for the team is the rare 4:25 p.m. EST kickoff, for the same reason Pittsburgh residents tend to like 1 p.m. games — it’s just at the right time of day for a football game.
Being on Pacific time does make primetime games — especially delayed primetime games like the Steelers/Cowboys Week 5 SNF matchup last year — a bit easier to bear. But generally I’m writing after the game and prefer the extra hours before bed.
